About Rick Pedro
He was a mere two years old when his mother pulled him down from climbing up and into the HI-FI/Stereo, hoping to get a glimpse of the piano player that must be playing inside. It was at the point his parents, both with a modest musical background and a one of a kind Great Aunt, who regularly tickled the ivories at family events, hoped perhaps Rick would someday play the piano. Three years later, at the age of 5, he started piano lessons and never looked back. Though his training was Classical, Rick quickly became enamored with Scott Joplin's Ragtime, The Original Dixieland Band's arrangements and the music of the Rip Roaring 20's and with his Classical influences, began to develop his own unique styling of Jazz, Ragtime and Dixieland. His mother would sit with him for hours, teaching him the songs of yesteryear and his Dad, a WWII Veteran, and actively involved with The American Legion for over sixty years, instilled a strong sense of Patriotism and love of country. These are the roots that have fostered this collection of songs and styles. A one of a kind blend of Patriotic and Ragtime music, a bonding as natural as Baseball and Apple Pie and as flavorful as Peanut Butter and Chocolate. We hope you enjoy this All American tribute.
